We, Korea’s Promise, are born to effectively and strategically bring Five Promises to young people. The Five Promise is made to help youth build and design their adulthood constructively and productively, is looking for this movement to be nationwide action and therefore declare the foundation of Korea’s Promise.
“Children hold the future of the nation” is a phrase that is habitually repeated by adults. This refers to us that children’s potential power is the decisive factor in one nation’s competitiveness. To survive in the era of information, children will have to be prepared with ability to face and solve problems with creative and critical thinking abilities based on healthy minds.
Korea’s Promise is fully aware of the current risks that children are exposed to; excessive competition for entrance exams, authoritarian adults that demands reckless obedience from children and teenagers, discriminations happening according to academic accomplishments in schools and families. This kind of atmosphere leads our children into moral hazard and delinquency. The tendency of delinquency is widening
This is why Korea’s Promise is established. We are to protect children and teenagers from possible dangers they are exposed to, and to lead them become an active and spontaneous civil citizens. We are to keep Five Promises to youth for health and well-being of our future.
